For the Walker family, Plains Camp is more than a place, it’s a feeling of unity, of wonder and of passion. It’s here that the strength of our family and our love for the wilderness culminate. We are proud to present an exceptional, luxury safari destination that is welcoming and where we can invite our guests to come together and create life-long relationships and memories with us.

The Walker Family acquired the property in 2006 and expanded it with two new destinations, Walkers River Camp and Walkers Bush Villa. In 2017, they began development on Walkers Plains Camp, which was completed by the end of 2018. Plains Camp is run today under the proficient management of James and Steve Walker.

The camp’s panoramic vistas of the Drakensberg mountains and the game-rich plains below, visible from each guest room and the main guest area, are standout features. The camp is located in the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve and is part of the greater Kruger National Park and is a Big 5 reserve.
